It’s safe to say that no business has made it through 2020 unaffected and, for better or for worse, the general consensus is the impact of this year will be felt across all industries for years to come.

At Tyneside Group, we are proud of how our company has navigated the challenges of this momentous year. Driven as always by the determination and dedication of our fantastic team, we’ve kept our business moving forward, so we can now look ahead to new and better opportunities in 2021.

Here, we’ve taken the time to reflect on the company’s achievements over the past year.

• It may seem a distant memory now, but back in February, Picton Manor – our office location and a Tyneside Developments project – received a commendation in the prestigious Lord Mayor’s Design Awards: Read more
• In March, as the global pandemic took hold in the UK, the Tyneside Group office closed, but our business stayed open, with our staff working remotely to support our tenants and protect our landlords through the lockdown: Read more
• The Tyneside Lettings team stayed ahead of the game in April, working hard on behalf of our landlords as Newcastle City Council were forced to delay the introduction of their new city-wide Licensing schemes: Read more
• Moving into the summer months, the UK restrictions began to ease, and we all had to adjust to a new working environment, as our office reopened in a Covid-secure way – allowing us to help our student tenants move safely into their new homes for 2020-21: Read more
• While a number of our construction projects were delayed by the pandemic and the lack of materials available as parts of the industry were locked down, the Tyneside Developments team got down to work in the second half of the year, with great progress made on Highbury in Jesmond and Albion House in the city centre.
• Starting a new job can often be daunting, but our newest member of staff really got thrown in at the deep end this year. Dale Rylatt joined the team as our Property Manager at the start of March, so he hardly had time to settle in before moving to home working.
