The Laiden Ranking guide, which offers “important insights into the scientific performance of over 1000 major universities worldwide”, has raised the position of Newcastle University to 78th position, from 90th in 2019.

Internationally renowned for its research, the university performed fantastically in Biomedical and Health sciences, where it scores 39th.

Newcastle University made a statement, which you can read here, in which the institution’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global commented “Our performance in the latest Leiden Ranking is testament to the quality, impact and reputation of our research.”

The news puts the University on the front foot as they prepare to welcome back students for semester 1, post-Covid.
